Necklaces for… MEN…

Posted by juliesjewels on July 17, 2011

I’ve been meaning to create a few more items for the gents in our lives.

I had made bracelets and necklaces a couple of years back and they’ve sold a long time ago and I never got around to doing anything else.

Well now I have, finally I have a couple of necklaces that have beautiful warm wooden beads in browns and a touch of black with striking silver beads that will be perfect for any man of distinction.

3-Focal Necklace

1-Focal Necklace

These have both been listed in my ArtFire Studio.

I hope you like these as I (fingers crossed) have plans for more jewels for men.  Just let me know what you’d like to see.

Beautiful Lava

Posted by juliesjewels on October 24, 2010

I joined in a swap back at the beginning of 2010, we were swapping Lava beads and this is what I received…

Recently I used some of these treasures and created this wonderfully rustic necklace.

This beautiful Lava Necklace has been listed on ArtFire.

Also uses pewter spacers and plated silver along with leather cord

*** I have a 10% Birthday sale running in my ArtFire studio until the end of October.  If you’d like the same savings from my Etsy store, leave ‘Birthday 10% sale’ in the notes to seller, or ask for a revised invoice using the code.

Simply Sweet & Delicate

Posted by juliesjewels on March 28, 2009

Once Upon A Design Challenge – Part Three

Part three has the following eras…

Neoclassical – Art Nouveau – Industrial Age

I choose the Art Nouveau and created this necklace with an old pendant and freshwater pearls to replicate some of the jewellery worn in this period of time.  Counting the links on the chain became a pain real quick – but they are at least all the same length…

This is really quiet a delicate necklace, for those that love a simple classic style.

February DUST Swap

Posted by juliesjewels on February 12, 2009

Swap number 2

Recently the etsyDUST team arranged a swap amongst members.

The theme was LOVE which is quiet apt for February and Valentine’s Day upcoming.

Anyway I had to make something to send to Anthea of – http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=23424 – her favorite colors are Purple and White and she picked her favorite items from my store.  Her choices were Chandlier Earrings and the ‘Bunch of Grapes’ earrings…

So from that I created these two pairs for her.

Anthea’s comment on receiving her parcel – Dear Julie-Ann,

Today, peeping out of my post box was the very exciting little package I have been looking forward to. I was so excited opening the envelope and reading the beautiful card!

I LOOOOOOOOOVE BOTH these earings.
I am flabber-ghasted that you sent me more than one pair – you completely shouldn’t have – and then again, I’m so glad you did as I love them both!

I have put the grape earings on immediately as they match (scarily perfect in colour) with what I was wearing today and I can’t WAIT to wear the beautiful Chandelier earings tomorrow.

It has been truly lovely being your swap ‘recipient’. I feel that I am one of the super-lucky ones and could not have hoped for a better beautiful gift – let alone TWO pairs.

Once again, I adore them and am so thrilled.

Thank you so very much for your beautiful work and designey style…

Yours sincerely & excitedly…

Anthea.
xx

Now I’m waiting on my item coming from… Gillian – http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5190943 – I Can’t wait to see what my pressie is, will pop it in here when it’s here…

Well here it is – TaDa

A gorgeous canvas sign with my business name – Julie’s Jewels

It’s perfect.  It even has a dictionary page and the two words above my name are – jewel & jewelry – how apt is that?

Prehistoric Necklace

Posted by juliesjewels on January 23, 2009

Once Upon A Design Challenge – Part One

A recent challenge saw me having to choose from the following eras

Prehistoric – Sumerian – Egyptian – Greek

So I choose Prehistoric – this necklace is made on leather cord with a shell for the focal highlighted by white bone and brown wood beads.  All components that would probably have been found at that time (Ignore the silver – that’s artistic interpertation)

So here’s the necklace

Listed on Made It – Prehistoric Necklace

This challenge runs for another two months with different ages to come.  I will keep you updated as the new era’s are posted and with what I choose to do.
